Corporate Profile

After walking in the footsteps of master taxidermist Hector Bédard for about four years, Gerry perpetuated his master's 100 years old tradition when he started his own career in the early 1960's. He quickly became Quebec's busiest taxidermist.

Gerry who had to flesh many hundreds of animal hides per year and was often working 70-80 hours a week to be able to deliver his many pieces. One day, he said to himself, there's got to be a better way! So he started to use one of the oldest models of fleshing machine that was used by tanners in the early 1900's.

After working with this old monster machine for a couple of years, Gerry started to dream about a more ergonomic, smaller, cleaner and more efficient machine. He came up with this excellent design ...the Quebec Fleshing Machine was born

Gerard was the first taxidermist to make presentations on fleshing and fleshing machines to the taxidermy public some 30 years ago at the first Taxidermy Review competitions and seminars.
